Service Questions
Q: Does Concord handle LTL or truckload freight?
A:
Concord specializes in moving products over the road in LTL
quantities. However, we welcome both your truckload and LTL
business. We attract customers who require the fastest road service
possible at an economical alternative to air freight movement or
have multiple suppliers requiring a consolidation of goods prior to
movement. Our truckload customers often require special handling
(blanket-wrap and strap).

Equipment & Technology Questions
Q: What is a ‘logistically equipped’ trailer?
A: Logistically equipped trailers have cargo tie-down rails recessed in the trailer walls every 2’ from floor to ceiling. Utilizing decking beams and straps fastened to the trailer walls, freight can be loaded in several different positions within the trailer to ensure that the product is secured safely during transit. This is a major reason for the low claims ratio that Concord enjoys.

Q: What types of equipment does Concord use?
A: Trailers are 48’ to 53’ in length with 102” to 110” in interior height. Five ton straight frame trucks are available in all major centres for pick up and delivery. Power tailgate equipped trailers are available for job site deliveries to most major centres as well. Contact your local branch for equipment availability in your area.

Q: How are trucks tracked while in transit?
A: Each linehaul tractor is equipped with a Qualcom satellite tracking device. The satellite automatically records the position of each tractor every hour and then updates our main computer system accordingly, so anyone can “see” where their shipment is. The satellite describes the location in miles, closest to the nearest city. For example, “12.3 miles NW of Atlanta GA”. The position of the tractor is accurate within 100 metres anywhere in North America.

Q: How does one track a shipment with Concord?
A: To track an active shipment, information can be gathered via the Shipment Tracking system on this web site, or by calling your customer service representative at your local branch. The Shipment Tracking system gives our customers access to dispatch system information, as well as satellite positioning and document imaging that relate to that shipment. Information on previously delivered shipments can be generated in the Customer Reports section of the Shipment Tracking system.
